Monthly fact: Central Plains Mennonite Conference is a vibrant area conference of Mennonite Church USA made up of 46 diverse congregations spanning 7 states (Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) and more than 1,000 miles from corner to corner.

Monthly fact: “We provide a meal to everyone who is hungry, regardless of ability to pay,  St Paul United Methodist Church 1:30 - 3 pm Tuesday's and Thursday's. Our guests are able to order any entree from our menu, along with a side item and a drink. Each meals costs $5, so we hope that you will consider donating to help us continue this mission.”

MASKS - Please wear a mask in our building.  For folks who are more comfortable with the Zoom option. Please talk to Chad or me with questions or concerns.  And thanks, all, for your patience as we try to be accommodating and caring:-)

 

YAMS & STUFFING - We will collect yams and stuffing for City Mission on Oct 31, Nov. 7 & 14. We would love it if the kids brought them up to the front of the sanctuary during offering time. We hope to deliver 100 large cans of yams and 200 boxes of stuffing on Nov 15.

 

ALL-SAINTS - We will have an "All-saints remembrance service" at 7p on November 10. There will be an opportunity to collectively and/or personally name people who have died (loved ones, neighbors, strangers). There will be a couple scriptures and a couple songs, and there will be a time for sharing, especially about loved ones who have died during the pandemic. There will be a time during the service to light a candle as a way to remember the dead.

 

PUPPETS - We will reopen our puppet theater for Advent this year. Please talk to Stan if you'd be willing to participate in various capacities.

 

CAN YOU HELP? - Nurture commission is looking for greeters and drivers. If anyone would be willing, please sign up on the bulletin board just inside the door to the fellowship hall.

 

SHARING FUND - We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Becky, and/or Ron.

 

SMALL GROUPS –Small Groups meeting at FMC:

 Small group meeting the first and third Wednesday of each month. 7:00pm. at FMC. Studying “Tongue-tied, Learning the Lost Art of Talking about Faith, by Sara Wenger Shenk.

Retiree small group meeting the first Tuesday of every month at 12:00 noon. Bring your own lunch.

 

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for Michael Swartzendruber, pastor of Wayland Mennonite Church, as he is ordained today. Pray for God's blessing on the ministry that Michael and Wayland Mennonite share.
