Birthday/Anniversary Offering: Lulu’s on N - www.lulusonn.com

Monthly fact: “Food Distributions in the community are a part of what your donations help us to do.  Last year, we served almost 4,000 meals free of charge and gave out about 1,000 bags of groceries to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.  Every dollar donated goes to support our mission of feeding the body and soul of our neighbors in need.”

MCC GOLF TOURNAMENT @ Beatrice Country Club on Saturday, June 26th.  Let Glen or Wade know soon.

Sunday morning we will continue our series on Galatians, reading Galatians 1:13-24. There's a church picnic after the service, with food provided and served by helping hands. Our silent mini-auction (proceeds going to Mennonite Central Committee) will be open at 9a (there are now 23 items, details attached). We will close the auction five items at a time every 5 minutes, so the last items will close around 1:25.

Next week we will read Galatians 2.

Updated safe-worship guidelines are attached for those who choose our in-person option for worship. Please look them over and talk to the elders or me if you have questions or concerns. Please note our new mask guidelines state:

**In the building, individuals need to be fully vaccinated or wear a mask.

For folks who are more comfortable with the Zoom option, it will also remain available for the foreseeable future. Thanks, all, for your patience as we try to be accommodating and caring:-)

Some Sunday school classes have in-person options. Please be in conversation with your group about planning, and be conscientious of folks with different expectations from yourself:-). If you're not presently part of a class and would like to be, let Dallas or me know and we'll try to connect you to a class.

First Mennonite Church of Lincoln has established a Mortgage Assistance Fund as one way of assisting families in our church, who might need help in making a down payment on their first home.  We are asking for gifts totaling at least $6000 before we can consider this support for our first family.  If you are interested in donating to this outreach, please consider donations to FMC, with Mortgage Assistance Fund in the memo line. If you would have further questions about the fund, we would encourage you to contact Christian Mukuna, Rick Stauffer, Dallas Schlegel, Jim Buller, Joel Mpolesha, or Pastor Dave.

Shalom Readers is a challenge for both adults and children to read books about peace this summer. The book lists and instructions can be found at  http://www.centralplainsmc.org/shalom-readers.html

Document the books you have read and request your prize using the form attachment to this email. Even if you don't get all seven books read, give your filled out forms to Stan Harder or Nancy Peters before September for recognition.

Nurture Committee continues to look for drivers for one or several of our attendees to and from church on Sunday mornings. If you would be willing/able to cover a month or at least be a substitute, please contact Steve Nitzsche.

The Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions (at Eastern Mennonite University) is sponsoring 17 college-age bicycle riders (one of the riders is Sheri's niece:-) to ride 3737 miles from Seattle to Washington D.C. They are having conversations on climate issues throughout the ride. Lincoln is the midway point on their 59-day journey, and they will camp in the FMC lawn. They hope to have lunch with as many of us as are available on July 1, then will have a panel discussion on the lawn that evening.  They hope some of us will ride with them out of town on the morning of July 2. More information can be found here: https://sustainableclimatesolutions.org/climate-ride-events/

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.
