Quarterly Mission Offering: Foster Care Closet -

Monthy fact: “Our intention - to come alongside everyone involved in the foster care system, from the children and the bio families, to the foster parents and the caseworkers. Our upcoming Foster Haven renovation was designed to benefit each member of the team. We are currently fundraising for the renovation.”

Birthday/Anniversary Offering: Lulu’s on N -

Monthly fact: Lulu’s is a great choice for lunch. 1417 N Street.  “We feature fresh, made from scratch food and use locally grown produce to create many of our menu offerings. We offer grilled sandwiches, soups, salads and baked goods guaranteed to make you long for Grandma’s house!”

Next week we will read Galatians 1:13-24. At the church picnic after the service, Outreach is planning on a silent mini-auction with the proceeds going to Mennonite Central Committee. It looks like there will be around 20 items.

Our safe-worship guidelines have been released. Please look them over and talk to Chad or me if you have questions or concerns.

Some Sunday school classes are beginning in-person options. If you're not presently part of a class and would like to be, let Dallas or me know and we'll try to connect you to a class.

Thanks to all who helped raise and donate $1680 to the Foster Care Closet (our 2nd quarter mission offering recipient) for Give to Lincoln Day.

First Mennonite Church of Lincoln has established a Mortgage Assistance Fund. We are asking for gifts totaling at least $6000 before we can consider this support for our first family.  If you would have further questions about the fund, we would encourage you to contact Christian Mukuna, Rick Stauffer, Dallas Schlegel, Jim Buller, Joel Mpolesha, or Pastor Dave.

Shalom Readers is a challenge for both adults and children to read books about peace this summer. The book lists and instructions can be found at

Nurture Committee continues to look for drivers for one or several of our attendees to and from church on Sunday mornings. Contact Steve Nitzsche.

The Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions (at Eastern Mennonite University) is sponsoring 17 college-age bicycle riders (one of the riders is Sheri's niece:-) to ride 3737 miles from Seattle to Washington D.C. Join them for lunch on July 1, and an evening climate issue panel discussion on the lawn.  Ride with them out of town on the morning of July 2. More information:

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.
