Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NIV

For reflection

“Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” –Martin Luther King, Jr.

Record for March 21

78 - Attendance - Zoom

Sunday morning we will be Zoom only: Sunday school will be at 9:30, and there will be a "fellowship break" at 10:30. Worship will be at 10:45. The meeting will be "open" from 9:15a-12:15p. We will have a good news in outreach about MCC hygiene challenge and read Luke 19:28-44. Please have a branch or coat to lay on the floor in your worship space, and, parents, please have the kids have a rock or two for children's story.

Next week we will read Luke 24:1-12.

An in-person option for worship services will resume April 11. More details to come on how these hybrid services will work.

I am looking for a few readers for the Good Friday service on the Zoom worship link next week at 6:30p. It will be a short service, and I ask that you have five candles to extinguish as the service progresses.

We will have a short Easter "sunrise" service in the church yard at 8a Easter Sunday. It will be outside, with masks and social distance. There will be a few songs, scripture, and maybe even a short homily.

Nebraska MCC sale - There are great reusable bags at the church for sale ($10) to support the sale. We will finish collecting for My Coins Count Saturday afternoon.

Those who might be interested in volunteering with Foodnet in coming weeks/months, there will be a short meeting Wednesday, April 7 at the worship Zoom link. Please come with your questions, and be discerning about signing up to help out. More hands makes more fun and less work:-)

We are planning a hygiene kit drive (https://mcc.org/get-involved/kits/hygiene).  Please have your items to the church by April 18thhttps://mcc.org/get-involved/kits/hygiene

●             1 adult-size toothbrush (in manufacturer’s packaging)

●             1 large bar bath soap (leave in wrapper)

●             1 nail clipper (good quality)

●             1 hand towel (medium weight, dark or bright colors; approx. 16 in x 26 in)

●             1 wide-toothed comb (6–8 in)

Our goal is to fill 125 hygiene kits, enough to our school kit bags. Our challenge is to “Fill the sanctuary” with bags in pews.  “Fill a pew.” A pew seats 6 people, so would you sponsor a pew for your family?

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.

The shop hours link will be open from 3-6 on Thursdays on Zoom

Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting. Physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.
