For reflection

In crisis times, where do we find our hope?

Sunday morning we will have another hybrid worship service on Zoom:

Sunday school will be at 9:30.

There will be a "fellowship break" at 10:30

 Worship will be at 10:45.

We will read 1 Kings 17:1-6.

Next Sunday we will have an MCC-themed service, observe communion, and read sections of Jonah 1 and 3 in worship.

We will observe COMMUNION SUNDAY 11/8. For those who plan to celebrate virtually, there will be a box of tiny communion cups/wafers in the fellowship hall (10/31 onward), and a handful at my house. Please pick one up, or feel free to provide your own elements.

It's time to help out with the People's City Mission Thanksgiving baskets: please drop off the big cans of yams and boxes of stuffing at the church between now and Nov 15. Talk to Dave if you need help getting in the building.

Version 2 of our safe worship guidelines have been emailed out.

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.

Gifts Discernment is looking to fill the primary Sunday school superintendent position. If you would like more information please contact Brett, Julie, or Becky.

The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.

Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for Robert Brown as he is installed for ministry at Cedar Falls Mennonite Church, Cedar Falls, IA. We ask that God would bless his ministry at and with Cedar Falls MC.
