Announcements

Thanks to Steve Ratzlaff for sharing the message with us over Zoom today.  Steve was our church's pastor up until 2003.  Thank you for sharing with us today.

Sunday morning we will have another hybrid worship service on Zoom.  The building will be open at 10:20.   Steve Ratzlaff will be with us and read parts of Luke 6. We will also commission new workers.  Next Sunday we will read parts of Exodus 32 in worship.

Gifts Discernment is looking to fill two positions:

Primary Sunday School Superintendent is vacant and is a 1 year term.

Worship Committee has a vacancy and is a 3 year term.

If you would like more information or would be willing to fill one of these positions please contact Brett, Julie, or Becky.

In anticipating the new Mennonite hymnal, Voices Together, you can listen to some demonstration songs.  Go to youtube.com and search "Voices Together demo."  You might try listening to:

“I will sing"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CegaL_Dnxxc

“Sanna Sannanina"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv_tnrZRoWI

“Touch the earth lightly”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZRVGWn3Qh8

Or find another one you especially like and we can sing it together.

We are planning another all church small group in the yard at FMC at 4p on Sunday, October 18. It will be a time to check-in with one another about life, worship, small groups etc. Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.

For those of you thinking about worshipping in our building, please read our attached full guidelines.

The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST -     Pray for Scott Roser whose previous ordination is being recognized in CPMC at Cedar Falls Mennonite Church today. We give thanks for Scott's faithful church leadership in Central Plains.
