Already at creation, God shows us limits are necessary to help navigate the complexities of life.

Sunday morning we will have another hybrid worship service:

The building will be open at 10:20

The Zoom meeting will be "open" from 9:15a-12:30p on Zoom.

We will read parts of Genesis 2 and 3.

Next Sunday we will read Genesis 15:1-6 and collect the August-September birthday offerings.

Gifts Discernment is looking to fill two positions:

Primary Sunday School Superintendent is vacant and is only a 1 year term. Wanda ordered new materials for the fall so we are looking for someone to take over for those who have already generously given much of their time planning classes for our kids during most of 2020 already.

Worship Committee has a vacancy, a 3 year term.

If you would like more information or would be willing to fill one of these positions please contact Brett, Julie, or Becky.

Thank you to everyone who continues to serve as well as those who have accepted new positions in the church. It takes many individuals to help run a small church and we are thankful for everyone's time and effort that they have given and continue to give. The nearly-complete list is in the weekly email.

In anticipating the new Mennonite hymnal, Voices Together, you can listen to some demonstration songs.  Go to and search "Voices Together demo."  You might try listening to:

“I will sing" -

“Sanna Sannanina" -

“Touch the earth lightly” -

Or find another one you especially like and we can sing it together.

Several of us will gather for a bike ride Saturday, Sept 27 to support MCC (see the Flatlander info below). There will be kids, more serious riders, and hopefully several in between. Please talk with Caleb or me if you're interested.

In the weekly email you will find a report (with testimonies, photos, and receipts... I have the beneficiary list, but it's not attached) of people benefitting from our sharing fund donation in DR Congo. Thanks to all of you who shared the money to fund this project to help with food for 120 families! What a fantastic project.

Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.

We have a sharing fund to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission: Steve, Julie, and/or Ron.

For those of you thinking about worshipping in our building, please read our attached full guidelines.

The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like..

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST -     Pray for Jacob Guckenberger who is being licensed toward ordination at Christ Community Church, Des Moines, IA today. Jacob joined his wife Kelsey to become part of the pastoral team there on August 1. We pray that God would bless Jacob's ministry at and with Christ Community.
