For reflection:

If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man’s life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility. --Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Sunday morning we will have another hybrid worship service on Zoom.  The building will be open at 10:20.  We will read Psalm 91:1-5 in worship, and Germaine and Christian will share about "hope in immigration."  Next Sunday Ben Woodward Breckbill will have the message.

Sunday will be the final installment of our "joy in adversity series." I hope you've appreciated the encouragement to reflect on sustaining verses from your past and/or the homework of finding hope in scripture. The verses and testimonies you have shared thus far have been fantastic: please send more, and prepare to share on Sunday. We'll have a shortish morning service as well as an outdoor service that evening in the FMC yard to finish this series.

For the Sunday evening service, we will have a microphone for the reading/testimony, which will be followed by some quiet time. There will also be a good amount of time for physically-distanced fellowship. Please bring your masks and lawn chairs:-)

The elders have three sets of discussion questions to kick off another year of small groups. We suggest the first meeting the week of September 13. We encourage groups to discern together whether they want to meet together in person or virtually as well as other logistics. If you're not in a small group and would like to be, please contact Anita or Rick soon.

Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.

We have a healthy sharing fund. We want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission or leadership board. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests.

We heard the online MCC auction was a success. We'll share how much was raised when we hear it... thanks so much for supporting it in this different way.

For those of you thinking about worshipping in our building, please read our attached full guidelines. Please contact Anita, Tim, Sabrina, or me with questions or concerns.

The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST -     Pray for your sister churches in Montana: Ashland Christian Fellowship, Lame Deer, White Chapel and White River Cheyenne Mennonite Churches.
