Worship committee is working on a series on hope for the weeks between now and September 13. If you appreciate a particular hopeful scripture, please send it to me... I'm collecting them, and hope several of us will read them in the service(s) in coming weeks. We are tentatively planning an outdoor service at FMC on one of those Sunday evenings as part of this series:-)
The elders are working on a series of discussion questions to kick off another year of small groups. There will be discussion questions for three sessions, hopefully beginning in early September. We encourage groups to discern together whether they want to meet together in person or virtually as well as other logistics. If you're not in a small group and would like to be, please contact Anita or Rick soon.
We are so thankful for Sabrina and her willingness to serve this summer (as well as her flexibility in serving). It has been such a blessing to our congregation.
Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.
We have a healthy sharing fund. We want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected with us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission or leadership board. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests.
The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.
CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for your sister churches in the Quad Cities area cluster: Casa de Oracion Emanuel, Iglesia Cristiana El Balsamo, Iglesia Menonita Centro Cristiano, Iglesia Torre Fuerte, Templo Alabanza and the El Buen Pastor church plant.
