Announcements
Sunday we will have another hybrid worship service:
The Zoom meeting will be "open" from 9:15a-12:30p on Zoom.
The building will be open at 10:20
We will read Isaiah 30:18-21, 23-26 in worship and Jeanette (as well as Lavina, Ron, and Joyce) will have the message.
Next Sunday Jeanette and several others from the congregation will have a message entitled: "overcoming adversity with perseverance and forgiveness." We will read Romans 5:1-5.
For those of you thinking about worshipping in our building, please read our attached full guidelines. Please contact Anita, Tim, Sabrina, or me with questions or concerns.
Sabrina is planning one more virtual gathering for FMC to share about our congregational backgrounds, especially from our childhood. Please be thinking about your own congregational history in preparation for a virtual gathering Sunday at 2p (on the worship link).
We are so thankful for Sabrina and her willingness to serve this summer (as well as her flexibility in serving). It has been such a blessing to our congregation. We pray we continue to grow together as she wraps up her internship here. If you want to read some of what she and others reflected (what MCC has published on summer service), please see here.
Jolene Boshart has updated her email address. Please update your contact list.
Worship committee is working on a series on hope/encouragement . If you appreciate a particular, hopeful scripture, please send me a message. We plan to have a lot of congregational involvement in the services on August 30 and September 6. If you would like to read and/or offer a short testimony... we would appreciate it.
The elders are working on a series of discussion questions to kick off another year of small groups. There will be discussion questions for three sessions, hopefully beginning in late August or early September. We encourage groups to discern together whether they want to meet together in person or virtually as well as other logistics. If you're not in a small group and would like to be, please contact Anita or Rick soon.
Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.
We have a healthy sharing fund. We want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on the nurture commission or leadership board. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests.
The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursday from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.
CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for the CPMC Council of Committees, happening virtually this week. We pray for the generative and fruitful work of our various conference committees as they meet to dream and plan for the next year of our shared work.
