Sunday we will have another hybrid worship service:
The Zoom meeting will be "open" from 9:15a-12:30p on Zoom.
The building will be open at 10:20
We will read Romans 8:18-28.
Michelle Armster, the executive director of MCC Central States will have our message.
Next Sunday we will probably stay in Romans 8 for another week:-)
For those of you thinking about worshipping in our building, please read our attached full guidelines. Please contact Anita, Tim, Sabrina, or me with questions or concerns.
Sunday school materials and other materials for yourself/family are available electronically. For kids: www.ShineCurriculum.com/ShineAtHome. For everyone: here.
The folks who are receiving the faithbuild house send us a letter (a photo's attached), and Habitat sent us some swag (it's on a table in the fellowship hall) to share. Please check it out, and thanks to those who prayed and helped.
Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: physical distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world.
Sabrina and I are planning a few virtual gatherings for FMC to share about our congregational backgrounds, especially from our childhood. Please be thinking about your own congregational history in preparation for a virtual all church small group August 5.
Beginning in August, the elders will prepare a series of discussion questions to kick off another year of small groups. We will have more details soon, and ask that, if you're not in a small group and would like to be, please contact Anita or Rick (they will also be seeking to identify contact people for our five small groups from last year).
We have a healthy sharing fund. We want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected w/ us who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on nurture commission or leadership board. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests.
The shop will continue to be "open" for shop hours Thursdays from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.
CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - We continue to pray for those who are most vulnerable in our communities in this strange time, as in all times. May God open our eyes to the possibilities for love and for protection of the least of these among us--and may we be willing to heed God's call.
