Announcements

Sunday there's opportunity for Sunday school/fellowship both before and after worship. The meeting will be "open" on Zoom from 9:15a-12:30p. Meet with your class and come for fellowship other times as well:-) Worship will begin at 10:30a. We will read Acts 2... It will be Pentecost, so wear fire-colored clothing and/or have flaming backgrounds if you'd like:-).

Next Sunday we will be back in 1 Thessalonians for another week.

Sunday school materials and other materials for yourself/family are available electronically at www.ShineCurriculum.com/ShineAtHome for kids or here for anyone.

Gifts Discernment committee asks that you take a minute to complete the attached survey. Please consider which positions in the church you may be willing to fill for the coming year(s), and also give suggestions about others who may have these gifts. If you cannot fill out the electronic survey, you may also email Brett, Becky, or Julie to express your interest. Survey link: https://forms.gle/H4L3yJzDGCKHmBKf8

Thanks so much for the gracious and honest discussion we had at all church small group. It seemed we heard one another well:-) I am compiling the feedback and will have a joint leadership board and elders meeting soon to discuss next steps.  Please talk to someone in these groups if you have more feedback.

Please continue to be extra intentional in connecting in order to fight social isolation: social distance is not equal to social isolation. Let's love our neighbors around the area and world. Please be safe and get together, maybe with 10 or so folks from your small group or Sunday school class, outside with some distance between yourselves. My bike and lawn chair offer remains on the table.

We have made some distributions, but still have a healthy sharing fund.  We want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected who are struggling with financial hardship. Please speak with someone on nurture commission or leadership board. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests.

The treasurer is collecting offering during this time away from regular in person worship services.  Any questions should be directed to Brett.

The shop will continue to be warm for shop hours Thursdays from 3-6. We are meeting virtually on Zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.

We are trying to share the technology responsibilities with our Zoom worship by creating a bit of a rotation... if you're comfortable with Zoom and would like to help out, please let me or Kathy B know.

My understanding is that Zoom users will need to update to Zoom 5.0 by the end of the month... it's free and here's the link: Zoom update.

And Kathy writes: "For those who are frustrated by Zoom, I'd like to give them another option of Dialing into the Zoom call and not worrying about the lagging sound that comes from computer audio.  This allows you to have your camera on, and participate in the meeting.  The only difference is that your sound is coming through on a phone call.  The host can still help you mute and unmute. You don't even have to worry which phone number to call.  They are all presented to you. Check out this link.  Make sure to scroll down to the instructions for your device: computer, iPhone, Android, etc..... https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362663-Joining-a-meeting-by..."

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for all of our congregations who had hoped to have VBS and are having to find new and creative ways to share the love of Jesus safely with children and families in our communities.
