Announcements

Sunday we will have Sunday school both before and after worship. The meeting will be "open" from 9:15a-12:30p. We will meet on Zoom. Meet with your class come for fellowship other times as well:-)

Worship will begin at 10:30a . We will sing a hymn that may be new to you, "Nothing is lost on the breath of God."  You can listen to it in advance using the following links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41oR0YKDtcw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_vrpMrQ--0 . The hymn is from the hymnal, Sing the Story, which we do not have in our pews.  But when the new hymnal committee took a poll of "Heart songs" of Mennonite congregations, this song was the most-loved song from Sing the Story.  Listen and see what the fuss is about.

Next Sunday we will read from Acts 17 and 1 Thessolonians 1.

Sunday school materials and other materials for yourself/family are available electronically at www.ShineCurriculum.com/ShineAtHome for kids of here.

The Archdiocese of Omaha put together a packet of Circle of Grace materials for parents to use at home during this pandemic. Since FMC would normally be teaching COG in April, we are sharing it with parents in digital form (see the attachment). It is to be distributed only to people who are under the umbrella of a license holder, which FMC is. Thanks

For some time we have been planning to order the new Voices Together hymnal.  The last day for early orders is May 1 (w/ a 10% discount)... so if you would like to order a personal copy and/or donate a pew copy near you, please send checks in multiples of $21 to the church: "FMC" (w/ "Hymnal" in the memo line). You can also get "worship leader" editions for $9 or accompaniment" editions for $81.  Please have checks in the mail today, and I'll get them to Brett. I'll be in touch with those who have requested personal copies next week... and we should receive our order around October.

The treasurer is collecting weekly offering during this time away from regular in person worship services. Feel free to drop off or mail donations to the church at 7300 Holdrege St, Lincoln, NE 68505. Donations can also be automatically deducted from your bank account on a weekly or monthly basis. Lastly, you can make donations through our PayPal account using our email treasurer [at] fmclincoln.org. There is a link for PayPal donations on the church's website under the "Donation" tab.  Keep in mind we do pay a processing fee to PayPal so checks and ACH are preferred.  Any questions should be directed to Brett.

We are further developing a sharing fund with funds from less traditional sources: we want to assist our members as well as those more loosely connected who are struggling with financial hardship. Please talk with me if you'd be interested in helping organize/develop this or if you'd like to contribute.

At the same time, it is not easy to ask for financial help and it's not easy to feel we need/deserve it...  please ask anyway: at this time, let me or someone on nutrure commission (Jo, Laura, or Brett) know. We will work to maintain the confidentiality of requests. Please reach out

It's important for us to find ways to share our lives together, in order to sustain each other with friendship. Please continue to support one another. It's important to be intentional in showing one another the love of Jesus in these confusing and potentially isolating times.

The elders and I would love to chat with you and/or pray with you.  Please connect with Anita, Rick, Sheri, or me if you'd appreciate this.

The shop will continue to be warm for shop hours Thursdays from 3-8 (though we usually take a supper break around 6p). We are meeting virtually on zoom. Stop by to chat if you'd like.

Kathy B has  a digital copy of the 2019-20 FMC directory for you if you'd like, email her.

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST -  Pray for the work of the Christian Formation Committee of Central Plains Mennonite Conference. We pray for wisdom and courage as they help us to be intentional and to think theologically about Christian formation for all ages.
