ANNUAL MEETING - Wednesday, January 15. Leadership board will be providing soups.  Please bring veggies or dessert to share, and there will be an offering opportunity to support our young people serving with MCC. We will eat at 6p, there will be report packets on the tables for review, and the meeting will begin at 7p. The main items on the agenda will be: review of the budget, vote on an elder, vote on quarterly mission recipients, and discussion of theme verse and other topics.

JOIN US for The Great Winter Warm-Up Comforter Blitz on Saturday, January 18, 9:00 am at FMC.  All hands on deck to tie knots in comforters.  These blankets are sent by MCC to people in disaster situations who lack basic necessities.  Recipients use comforters as bed covers, room dividers, carpets, curtains, wraps, mattresses and more.  It’s more than a warm blanket—it’s a message of love and compassion.

UNDER THE GIVING TREE: We donated 18 packages of diapers (703 total diapers) and 40 packages of wipes (3084 total wipes) to the Foster Care Closet. Thanks!

ARE YOU INTERESTED in more context on the Gospel according to Mark? A few of us are reading the 16 chapters in four-chapter segments over the course of the next several months. Over the next two weeks, please read Mark 1-4 with the guiding question "How is Mark introducing us to 'the beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ'?"

NEXT WEEK we will celebrate communion, have potlluck, and read Mark 2:1-22.

FMC LADIES - We meet the 2nd Tuesday morning of each month for coffee or activities. January 14 we will meet at the church at 9:30am to Tie Comforters  for MCC and enjoy a coffee break as well. All are welcome!

BIRTHDAY/ANNIVERSARY OFFERING – We have a new recipient for our monthly Birthday and Anniversary offering.  The Foster Care Closet is here in Lincoln, and also provides help across the state.  They provide an Intake Center where youth can wait while a placement is set up, they are fed, and provided with 5 new outfits.

SHOP TIME - I am preparing for another winter of shop hours... the shop will be warm weekly :-)  Please talk to me if you have preferences for the day. Please be thinking of projects you would like to build for yourself or the MCC sale.  – Pastor Dave

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST -  Pray for the refugee ministry of Quito Mennonite Church. We give thanks for faithfulness and pray for strength as their small team prepares to minister to refugees for another year.
