SUNDAY SCHOOl - Preschool-12th Grade Sunday School: Fall is fast approaching, and we will be ordering curriculum soon. Please let Kathy H. know if your child plans to attend Sunday school so we can ensure we have all the materials needed to learn & grow together!

 

A BABY SHOWER! To celebrate the birth of a new baby boy for Danny and Martha Tshibangu, we will host a baby shower with our next church potluck on Aug. 18. Since they have arrived recently from DR Congo, they are in need of all baby items. Diapers, clothing, high chair, stroller, car seat, crib, etc. Lightly used items are always welcomed.   

 

CENTRAL PLAINS WOMEN'S RETREAT is Sept 21-22 at Swan Lake (there's a poster on the bulletin board). Please talk to Laura for more information.

 

THE MCC FLATLANDER BIKE RIDE is Sept 21 in North Newton. Please talk to me if you're interested in riding/participating this year (also, there are registration brochures in my mailbox.

 

FOR OFFERTORY TODAY, Anita will use the flute to play the songs of birds, as transcribed from nature by the composer Olivier Messiaen.  You’ll hear Song Sparrows, a Meadowlark, a European Blackbird, and others.  Do you recognize any of the songs?

 

CATCH UP - I would love to catch up with you after two months away.... I will return to Panera next week for coffee on Wednesday (9:30-11:30a): please come for a chat after sabbatical:-) or email to set up coffee or lunch some other time.
