 THANK YOU to everyone who helped out at our first Trunk or Treat.  It was an amazing success!  I lost count, but I think we had over 150 kids.  We had 11 "trunks" and the best costumes and decorations.  Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event a great success!  -Kathy Boshart

MEAT CANNING – Dallas is planning a trip to MCC meat canning in Newton on Nov 7-8. At present, five of us are going so we'd have room for one more... Please talk to him if you'd be interested in participating.

WORK DAYS:  The trustees are arranging more FMC work mornings on coming Saturdays. Please talk to Glen, Thad, and/or Wanda if you're available.


RETIREE WORKDAY at FMC. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 9:00am. We will be meeting to do some inside cleaning and upkeep projects (and chatting and eating :)


YAMS & STUFFING:  We are collecting yams and stuffing for People's City Mission Thanksgiving baskets. Our tentative goals are 100 big cans of yams and 200 boxes of stuffing. Questions? Ask Kevin Haake or Kathy Boshart


CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for MC USA and congregations using the Journey Forward Pathways study guide for exploring how we live out the core values of our faith in today’s world. Pray also for the Women Doing Theology conference planned at AMBS in Elkhart, IN, November 8-10.


THEME VERSE:  The elders are beginning discerning 2019 theme verse options. We hope to vote on some at the annual meeting in January, and request your suggestions by Dec 4 (our next elder meeting).


CAN YOU HELP:  Sunday will be Pastor Barb Dickason's last with our sister congregation: Antelope Park Church of the Brethren. They ask for help loading the moving truck tomorrow near 37th and F. Several of us plan to be there to help with the bigger items around 8a. Please let me know if you're interested in helping.


ALL ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL:  November 18 an all adult Sunday school will be led by the child advocacy center. It will begin at 9a, and the title is "Talking with children about body safety, boundaries, and sexual abuse." The subtitle reads "No one ever said talking to children about sexual abuse would be easy; but, it's worth it." It should be very good: the description is on the bulletin board. 


Commitment Survey: Leadership Board would like to invite you to participate in the FMC 2019 Commitment Survey - thank you for taking the time to consider your future financial commitment to FMC. The purpose of this survey is to address the financial shortfall we have experienced in 2018 by giving the budget committee an estimate of what to plan for in 2019. Your surveys will be kept confidential with only the Treasurer accessing these records. Please complete this survey as either a household or individual. If you prefer to fill out a paper form we will have those available on Sunday morning. We will use the final question to remove any duplicate entries and follow up with questions if needed.
