The Psalms push against our culture’s dominant ideology:

a commitment to continuity and success,

and an avoidance of hurt/loss as well as newness/surprise.

NEW BABY - Vanessa gave birth to Nathan Mujinga Kalombo at 4:15 Tuesday! He is 8lbs, 14oz, 22 inches. Mom and baby are doing well. Please keep the Kalombo family in your prayers as we welcome Nathan.

CLASS - Our community/communion, baptism, and church membership Sunday school class continues Sunday.  There will be an all-church component to the class: we will host two all-adult Sunday school classes in August (5th and 26th, as well as one in September) in which we will have a group discussion on each of the topics listed above.  If you'd be willing to share a few minutes on one of these topics, please talk to Pastor Dave.

SHARING FUND - The nurture commission is asking for donations to the sharing fund for several needs they would like to assist with in the congregation. If you would like to make a donation in the next week or two, notate the contribution in your check memo or by filling out one of the cash envelopes provided in the pews.

COME & SEE – Please spread the word and invite your neighbors, coworkers, friends, and classmates to join us for our Friendship Sunday service and stay for Potluck, immediately following the service. Members, please bring a main dish and either a side dish or dessert to share. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for Shana Peachey Boshart as she ends her tenure with Central Plains on Tuesday and begins as faith formation minister for MC USA on Wednesday.
