SOCK TREE - Socks are among the most needed items at homeless shelters, yet are the least donated item. Help us decorate the Christmas tree with socks and gloves. The items will be donated to People City Mission. So stock up on socks, and have your donations on the tree by Christmas Eve.
SUNDAY, Dec 24 – We have several special things going on Sunday, Christmas Eve. We will not have our regular Sunday School classes, but instead have our Morning Service at 9:30 am, followed by a Potluck Brunch. Sunday Evening, we will have a “midnight” service at 11:30 pm.
SPECIAL MUSIC – Calling out to all musical folks. Do you something that you would like to sing or play? Do you have a music recital coming up? We would love for you to play or sing as a Prelude or Offertory. Please contact one of the music leaders: Jolene Boshart, Anita Breckbill, Jeanette Harder, Jen Miller, Wanda Stauffer, or Julie Youngs.
CONGRATULATIONS – Nancy Peters recently received recognition for her 25 Years of Service to Lincoln Public Schools. That’s a lot of students!
ELDER ELECTIONS – We will have an opening for a Female Elder next year. Please submit your nominations on the included ballot to Nancy Peters, Barb Schlegel, or Brett Stauffer by Christmas Eve. Votes will be cast at the congregational meeting on January 17, 2018. Please give this prayerful consideration.
BUILDING FUND - Pledges totaling $26,200 has been committed so far to our goal of $30,000 over the next 3 years. We have already collected $8,000 of the total pledges to reduce our principle balance immediately. Please continue to pray and consider how you can help or who you can reach out to in regards to our debt reduction commitments. We have a goal of $10,000 a year in new commitments above and beyond our regular giving in order to eliminate our mortgage balance by the end of 2019. Additional copies of the debt reduction letter and commitment cards are located in the top right mailbox. Pledge cards can be dropped in the offering plate or the treasurer's mailbox.
CONFERENCE PRAYER REQUEST - Pray for your sister churches: Shalom in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; First and Bethel in Mountain Lake, Minnesota; and Rochester (MN) Mennonite Church.
