O Lord, we humble ourselves before you.

We confess our sins to you, our God.

We seek to be righteous as individuals
People
but are unconcerned as a nation.
Leader
You love and sustain all people.
People
We limit our concern and compassion to people we know.
Leader
God of the weak
People
grant us your forgiveness.
Leader
Our comfort and ease depend upon people we will never
meet.
People
We close our hearts to their stories.
Leader
From their hands we import abundance.
People
To their communities we export deprivation and
suffering.
Leader
Our many goods bring us joy and pleasure.
People
Those who produce them are afflicted with hardship and
sorrow.
Leader
God of the wounded,
People
grant us your forgiveness.
Leader
We hear the lamentation for the King of Tyre.
People
We will not profane our worship with unrighteous trade.
Leader
Give us, and our nation, your wisdom.
People
Restore us to your blameless path.
Leader
Lead us away from iniquity in our commerce.
People
Let us remove all violence from our trade.
Leader
God of the weak and the wounded
People
grant us your forgiveness and lead us in your paths of
righteousness.

you would be interested in serving in either of these positions, please let
Brenda McLey or David Orr know.
MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLANS - When it comes to buying health
insurance, timing is everything.
Buying a Medicare supplement plan is an essential part of your

counselor who can help you determine which plan is right for you.

PROFESSIONAL MENTORING PROGRAM - Can you imagine going to
another country where your education and work experience mean nothing? Many refugees face this problem when they
come to the United States. By serving
as a Professional Mentor you can enrich your perspective on another culture
while making a different in someone's life.
The program aims to help New American professionals in
setting and progressing along a realistic career path through cultural and
career mentoring. The goal is to get
100% of our participants engaged in the profession of their choice as quickly
as possible. The mentor would have to
commit 4-5 hours a month. We
currently need a mentor in the journalism field and two mentors in the
IT/computer programming field. We
need dedicated mentors who can guide these individuals in the right direction
through networking, job shadowing, career and education advice, etc.
If you are interested, please contact me. Thank you!

ECONOMIC JUSTICE
& INJUSTICE
TODAY we join other Mennonite congregations across the
U.S. in highlighting MCC's campaign "Abundant Life: Economic Justice for
All" by looking at global trade. Because of unfair trade rules for
the most vulnerable in the U.S. and our trading partner countries, it is
important that "while holding a mug of fairly traded coffee in one hand,
we use our other hand to write" to our elected officials asking for
their support of the TRADE (Trade Reform, Accountability, Development and
Employment) Act H.R. 3012 in the House, and S. 2821 in the Senate.
This TRADE Act will form a framework for reviewing U.S.
trade policy, such as existing agreements like NAFTA and CAFTA and set
standards that help provide stable jobs, environmental protections, public
health, and poverty reduction. If you didn't get a chance to write or
sign a letter to be delivered to our Nebraska representatives during Sunday
School, a table is set up in the fellowship hall for after the service.
The WALL of ECONOMIC JUSTICE and INJUSTICE is up in
the fellowship hall. Please bring in items to put on the
"wall" or set on the table.
You can staple or pin items on or put them in the box on
the table and someone will post them. The wall will be developing and
changing over time to reflect the interests and "finds" of the
congregation, so don't be shy: bring in pictures, poems, jokes, articles,
websites, etc.
