Be sure to attend the additional seminars Dan will be offering at 7:00 p.m. tonight and Wednesday evening.

TROYER FAMILY - "God's Grace" will be the musical message of the Troyer Family during the worship service on Sunday, October 25.  Steve and Katie and their four young children are from Fort St. John in northern British Columbia.  This would be a great opportunity to invite friends and family who would enjoy traditional style southern gospel music.

CAN YOU SMELL THE COFFEE? - Watch for sales of delicious, fair trade coffee.  Coming soon, to a fellowship hall near you!

WALK TODAY TO STOP HUNGER - Today, on CROP Walk Sunday, neighbors from different faiths, cultures and ages walk together to take a stand against hunger in our world.  Walkers will meet at 1:30 at Christ United Methodist Church, 45th and A Sts. for a walk of about three miles.  This year, if you are contributing to Mennonite Central Committee through CROP, please make out your checks to MCC, indicating CROP on the memo line.

MEMBERSHIP - We plan to receive new members later this year.  People may be received as members by baptism, transfer, or confession of faith.  Let David Orr know if you might be interested in becoming a member of the congregation.

POTLUCK MEAL NEXT SUNDAY - Everyone is invited to stay next Sunday for a potluck meal right after the worship service.  Please bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share.  Come for lots of food, fun and fellowship.

GIFT OF MOVIE & POPCORN - The Sr. High Youth Group thanks First Mennonite Church for your constant care and support.  Let us treat you to a movie on Wednesday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. at FMC.  Complimentary popcorn and sodas will be served by the Sr. High Youth Group.

CIRCLE OF GRACE - We will be using the Circle of Grace curriculum for children K-12 in January 2010.  The goal of the Circle of Grace program is to educate children and empower children and young people to actively participate in a safe environment for themselves and others. The training for this curriculum will be on Sunday, November 8, from 12-4, lunch included. Teachers are urged to attend; parents are welcome. Please RSVP to Jeanette Harder.

GLOBAL FAMILY SPONSORSHIP - Our sponsorship of students in the Community Schools and Vocational Training Programs in Calcutta, India, is made possible through our monthly Birthday and Anniversary offering which will be held next Sunday.  After years of remaining the same, the cost of our sponsorships has increased by 25%, to $900 per year.  Recent reports are posted on the bulletin board.

MCC IS RESPONDING TO ASIA DISASTERS - You can help victims of Asia disasters through MCC.  Working with the local Mennonite church and other trusted partners, Mennonite Central Committee is meeting human needs following the devastation of recent earthquakes in Indonesia and Typhoon Ketsana in the Philippines and Vietnam.  MCC has committed an initial $100,000 to the effort and welcomes your gifts of money to meet immediate emergency needs and support recovery efforts.  Contributions may be made at any MCC office; online at mcc.org/donate; or by calling toll free1-888-563-4676 or 316-283-2720.  Please designate gifts for "Asia Disasters."  Keep watching our website, mcc.org, for information.  We invite your prayers for people affected by the disasters throughout Asia.

CHILDREN'S ADVENT CALENDAR - This colorful calendar, illustrated with artwork from an MMA coloring contest, retells the Christmas story using daily tabs children can flip open.  Under each flap is a Scripture verse and corresponding artwork.  Available at: www.bookstore.mma-online.org.

FAITH AND THE ENVIRONMENT EVENTS - The Lincoln Area Christian Educators are hosting events for people of all faiths to enjoy at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center on Sunday, October 18, from 2-5 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 27, from 5-8 p.m.  The events, called Seeds of Faith, will focus on a service project of collecting bountiful native seeds from the prairie to be used in prairie restoration projects.  There will be music, refreshments, and other outdoor activities.  Free to all.
