Our God does not live in temples built by hands.

The God who made the world and everything in it is Lord of heaven and earth.

CONSIDER TEACHING - Sunday School teachers are needed for Preschool, Middlers (gr. 3-5), Junior Youth and High School. Teachers can share a position, and teach 1/2 time, if they like.  Let Wanda Stauffer know today!  Thanks for touching the life of a child.

LEARNING TOGETHER - The women of FMC will have the opportunity to study the Bible together this fall.  We will meet on Saturday mornings at 6:30 a.m. at church beginning September 12.  The 12-week study will follow Beth Moore's video series, "Believing in God".  All women are welcome!  Please sign up by August 23 on the church bulletin board so that we can order you a book.

6 PERCENT - Six percent of most Amazon.com purchases go to First Mennonite Church each time you link to the site through our website: www.fmclincoln.org/Commercial_Links.htm.  Keep it in mind for textbooks, DVDs, electronics, or any online purchases.

OUR DAILY BREAD DEVOTIONALS - The new quarter of the daily devotional booklets have arrived.  Help yourself to one right above the church mailboxes.

OUTREACH COMMISSION has rescheduled.  The meeting will be at Crescent Moon Coffee, 816 P St., tomorrow, Monday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m.

LEADERSHIP BOARD meets this Thursday, August 20.

HEAD TO THE NORTH WOODS - Come to a quilter's, scrap-booker's, and creator's retreat, called Colors of Fall, October 1-4, at Wilderness Wind, Ely, Minnesota.  Let your laughter join that of the loons as we quilt, create and bask in the spectacular colors of fall. Our days will be rich and fluid with time for creative expression, good conversation and opportunities to soak in the beauty of fall.  We will knit, sew, hike, and quilt on a baby quilt for the MCC Relief Sale.  Visit www.wildernesswind.org or call 218-365-5873.

INTERESTED IN IMMIGRATION ISSUES? - Join the conversation at "And You Welcomed Me: A consultation of the people of God on Immigration", September 18-20 at Lakeview Camp and Conference Center, Waxahachie, Texas (near Dallas).  Anyone interested in a Christian response to questions concerning immigration is invited to attend this information-packed weekend of workshops, worship and networking.  CPMC congregations are encouraged to send persons to this conference.  Registration, lodging and on site meals ($200) will be granted to five persons from the conference who will commit to working on this issue for the next year.  For information contact Rosie Epp.  More information/ registration at www.MennoniteMission.net/Immigration.
