Announcements

 

WELCOME - Today we welcome Matt and Elizabeth Troyer Miller as our guest speakers.  We appreciate their willingness to come and share with us.

 

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT - Britton Michael was born Thursday, April 30, at 8:29 a.m.  He weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz.  Congratulations to parents, Doug and Michelle, and big sister, Avery.  The rosebud on the altar is in honor of Britton's birth.

 

MISSION STIMULUS PAYMENT - Many mission organizations are struggling during these challenging economic times.  People's City Mission has had to reduce staff.  Mennonite Central Committee has made painful cuts.  Mennonite Mission Network has been facing income shortfalls for several years.  In response, Leadership Board has agreed to make special gifts of $1,000 to help each agency.  We are thankful for your generosity that makes this possible.

 

SABBATICAL - Pastor David Orr is on sabbatical May-July.  For pastoral care needs, contact congregational chairperson, Brenda McLey.  Nurture Commission chair, Dallas Schlegel, is the alternate contact.  Prayer Chain requests should be directed to Brenda.  Helping Hands will be responsible for opening the building each Sunday.  The Trustees will handle closing the building.

 

HESSTON BENEFIT - The 20th Anniversary Nebraska Golf Benefit for Hesston College will be held in Milford on Monday morning, June 15th, at the Thornridge Golf Course. Nebraska congregations and alumni/friends of the college are invited to bring a team or individual entry for a great day of golf, food, and fellowship! Entry fee is $65 per person. If you aren't able to play, you are welcome to help sponsor the event. All proceeds go to assist Hesston students establish a strong foundation for their next life steps and to "Start Here, and Go Everywhere!" Contact John Burkey for registration information and questions.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS TO MARY - If you have any announcements for the May 10 bulletin, please get them to Mary Cooney by this Tuesday evening, May 5.  She will be printing the bulletin earlier than usual this week.

BIRTHDAY OFFERING NEXT WEEK - We will celebrate all of our May birthdays and anniversaries next Sunday during the worship service.  All the money given to the birthday offering is used to support three students in India.
